Tempt your tastebuds at the top foodie event of the fall

Toronto is renowned for its great food scene. From restaurants offering cuisines from the world over, to celebrated local chefs and food experts, this city more than holds its own when it comes to everything delicious. And bringing it all together again this fall is the foodie event of the season, RELISH The Foodie Event, Presented by The Clove. This beloved food festival is back for its fifth year at Cloverdale Mall September 14 and 15, 2024, and besides your appetite, you’ll definitely want to bring the whole family (including your four-legged pals) to this free-to-attend, two-day celebration of food.
Why? As previous guests can attest to, there are endless gourmet adventures in store at this fun-filled outdoor affair. Think local food trucks serving up tantalizing dishes: Eats Manilla will be slinging Pinoy street food, for one, and Jerk Brothers will have their Caribbean fare (their oxtail is a must-not-miss). If you’re a pizza lover, Vinny’s Pizza has your name on it with their pizza napoletana cooked to perfection in their wood-burning oven. Your sweet tooth will be more than satisfied, too: Super Churros will take care of that dessert fix for you with their mouthwatering, crispy-on-the-outside, cinnamon sugar-coated fritters.
RELISH The Foodie Event is more than just a day of eating, though. At the Tastemakers’ Marketplace, there will be plenty of artisanal treats to take home as gifts (for loved ones, or yourself!) from local favourites such as Laura Slack Chocolate, Home Baker (with their kits of organic ingredients making baking up gourmet bites a cinch) and award-winning Mojo Peppa Sauce (they’ve got options as mild or spicy as you like), to name just a few.
There’s plenty to feast on for all of your senses, too. Catch live performances and the DJ spinning the best music on the SKYGRID Stage: From the high-energy moves of the Sole Power hip hop crew to spirited Brazilian dancers–you may even be inspired to get up from picnicking on the grass to move as well (or, if dancing isn’t your jam, try out the fastest growing sport, pickleball, at the outdoor Fairgrounds court). Say cheese (or woof), at The Clove Portrait Studio offering free Pet & Family Portraits on site.
You can also dive into expanding your food knowledge at any one of the gourmet-focused workshops: learn from Cheese Master Afrim Pristine of the Cheese Boutique on how to pair delectable Canadian cheeses with wine, or get hands-on and discover how to create gorgeous centerpieces for your next dinner party in a floral workshop in partnership with Derêves.
The kiddos haven’t been overlooked, either. Keep the little ones busy with the food-themed games and more at the Little Foodies Play Zone, plus Metro’s got Little Foodsters’ Fruit Bouquet Workshops–where kids can grow their appreciation for food while getting creative making edible bouquets.
